Honing oil is a heavy-duty, low viscosity oil designed for honing and super-finishing ferrous and certain non-ferrous metals such as nickel and aluminum alloys. It’s chlorine-free, with very low odor and active sulphur content. Honing oil is recommended for engine block and cylinder honing, as well as for cutting, screw machine, tapping, reaming, and grinding. Benefits include preventing welding and tearing of the workpiece, preventing pick-up and galling, excellent surface finishes, prolonged abrasive and honing stone life, and prevention of load-up by keeping the hones clean. The oil has excellent flushing properties, low viscosity, and wetting characteristics to reduce drag-out, and it is low odour and misting.
